LET US WITNESS THE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN VIGAN CITY

Vigan City is located in the province of Ilocos Sur. Vigan has been designated as a UNESCO world Heritage because to its exceptional preservation of Spanish colonial and Asian architectural  design and styles. One of the last remaining Spanish colonial towns in Philippines is Vigan, whose historic core is distinguished by cobblestone lanes, ancestral homes, and buildings that combine Asian and Spanish architectural elements. Vigan is widely-liked tourist spot and tourist attraction in the Philippines because of its cultural and historical value as well as its well preserved heritage buildings. While admiring the distinct beauty of the history of Vigan, visitors or tourists can experience the rich history and cultural heritage of the region.

    Vigan City celebrates its fiesta  in honor of St. Paul, the Apostle, who is the patron saint of Vigan. During the fiesta, a lot of activities and events take place, it includes Religious processions, cultural exhibitions, beauty pageants, street dancing, parades, and others. It is the chance of the community to unite, honor St. Paul and showcase their cultural heritage, and express their devotion to St. Paul.



     Longganisa Street Dancing and Showdown Competition was the event in January 22, 2024. It is where the participants showcase their traditional dances and colorful costumes. This event is not only a celebration of culture but also an opportunity for communities to express their creativity and pride in their heritage.





    Viva Longganisa Festival Grand Parade was the event in January 25, 2024. It is where both tourists and residents gather along the parade route, enjoying the parade of different groups and giving a lot pf candies and other goods.  It is also serves as a platform to celebrate the achievements and progress of Ilocos Sur under Governor Jerry Singson's leadership.

                            

    LOS PATRONES PROCESSION was the event last January 28, 2024. This is a parade for patrons which is very important when welcoming a festival. It is a event where people or floats move in a formal and organized way along route.

The unique performances, such as the street dancing, and other performances was the best to attract and showcase their communities, culture, and their colorful costumes. In this wonderful journey, you will not only witness but actively participate in the spirit of community, leaving with not just memories but a profound sense of shared humanity. Challenges and crowds became part of the tapestry, adding to the collective energy of the event. Engaging with friends and different people creates a shared sense of enthusiasm, fostering connections through mutual appreciating the festival. The festival is a special day for the residents and all people that are supporting Vigan City, because it is the day to present their unique culture, traditions, and history. Attending to a festival is a great experience for all.
